“Character assassination meted out to Mr. Muse Bihi
is uncalled for”

The unprecedented publicity given to the character assassination meted out to the Kulmiye vice chairman, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi by Hadhwanaagnews.com – which has been orchestrated by  certa in vested interests – has been diametrically against the ethics of journalism.

I’ve never seen or heard of such publicity given to the character assassination of a personality holding high ranking post – be it in the outgoing Riyale administration or in the political parties by any Somaliland media; the publicity that this website has given to the willful attack on the  chara cter of the Kulmiye vice chairman, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi is tantamount to a naked declaration of  w ar against his credibility and that of his party by Hadhwanaag, and as far as I know no other  ele ctronic media or print media has ever carried out such negative publicity against a high profile personality, who is highly respected in the political circles, which may be due to  unprofessionali sm and unethical on the part of Hadhwanaag.

The character assassination that meted out to the Kulmiye vice chairman, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi has been preplanned by some vested interests, who tried in vain to malign and defame his credibility as the Kulmiye vice chairman, and they (the vested interests) are still in a state of  dissatisfac tion and an unbelievable by the landslide victory gained by the Kulmiye party for which Mujahid Muse Bihi Abdi was the reason of his party success.

It is apparent that Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi has been the driving force for the Kulmiye party during the election crusade and that he canvassed for scores of votes to his credit that won his party by landslide in the recent held presidential polls for which the Somaliland has been congratulated  a nd praised. And this is why those vested interests tried vainly to slander his credibility in which he earned at the time of the electioneering.

It is a historical fact while Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi had been in the armed struggle of SNM against the Siyad Barre regime had been known to his bravery, religiosity, truthfulness, trustworthiness, an d teetotalism and he has also been a non - smoker and has never chewed Khat, which is widely chewed in the Horn of Africa, and this, is, however earned him to be a such credible personality and he is highly respected throughout Somaliland.

There is no doubt that Mr. Muse just like his co – fighters of SNM high ranking officers had been sent to the Soviet Union by Siyad Barre regime and he was successfully trained as a military pilot and never failed the tests that were designed to assess his training skills and performance as the vested interests claimed in their disgusting scribbles. And this can be confirmed from his co-military trained friends in the country if one is interested to know his historical background.

Manufacturing this kind unscrupulous remarks against him will never damage his reputation and will remain intact. In addition, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi speaks three languages namely English, Arabic and Russian, and he did his schooling in Hargeisa, fortunately, some of his teachers are alive and are in the country and can be approached them for further details on Mr. Muse’s early schooling.

Being the first ever nominated interior minister in late Egal’s cabinet (may almighty Allah rest his soul in paradise) in 1993, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi patriotically helped the late president – Mohamed H aji Ibrahim Egal in the disarmament process; Mr. Muse disarmed successfully the militia which  ha iled from his Sacad Muuse clan, who without disarming them from the heavy weaponry with  whi ch they were armed no government of any kind would have been impossible to form in the  coun try.

During the course of the disarmament process there were certain clan militia in Hargeisa who  re fused to be disarmed in order to be absorbed into the newly established national army forces, Mr. Muse as the internal minister, he overtly told those clan militia that his administration led by late president Egal would not bow to any pressure from them and would wipe them out if they tried to go against the disarmament programme in which the Egal administration had been  estab lished every corner and cranny of the country. And that project went successfully thanks to his bravery.

I bear witness since Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi was my neighbour and I’ve known him personally for over a decade that he is a religious person, who does not smoke, booze or chew Khat and that it is  o bvious that these attacks on the character of Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi are manufactured by  unscrup ulous individuals.

Those launched the attacks on the character of Kulmiye vice chairman, their attitude, behaviour and knowledge are highly questionably at the best; some of these individuals have never been properly schooled and are failed in life and known for meting out unreasonable and unacceptable criticisms to the highly respected personalities, who shed their blood for the emancipation of  th eir country from Siyad Barre military regime that eliminated tens and thousands of innocent  civi lian population and the same time razed their house to the ground. Mr. Muse had spent his entire life in the bush, while those habituated for criticizing him and his likes had been leading a decent life in the overseas while others dastardly ran away with their lives and left behind their country in the hands of the invaded enemy forces; who indiscriminately raped their sisters, mothers and every one of their relatives. However, Mr. Muse was among the SNM high ranking officers who fought against the enemy forces and they liberated this peaceful country in which you are  curr ently enjoying the democracy and the freedom of expression you are misusing. It is highly  impo ssible that Mr. Muse will quit the politics of Somaliland as far as we - Kulmiye supporters want  h im and very soon he will take over the chairmanship of the party and this will become severe  blo w to the opponents of Muse Bihi Abdi. Long live Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi.
