Somaliland land town of Gabiley is core of education,
source of farming and mother of nationalism poetry
Our daily experiences has an impact with the we think
normally, few days ago, I have learned a friend with
exceptionally knowledgeable and brainy friend who
originates from the agricultural town of Gabiley whereby
the late the late great poet Abdillahi Timacade
originates as well and situation has influenced writing
short article about the late Timacade. According to
Wikipedia Timacade was born in 1920 in the small town of
Galooley which is situated near somaliland regio n of Gabiley in 1920 and subsequent living in Ethiopia and
Djibouti in 1940 and 1950 respectiv ely, he returned his
original home town Gabiley in an effort taking part for
the liberation move ment against the British
administration. This great leader has died on February
06, 1973 in Kala badh and buried in Gabiley. The ultimate
measure of man is not where he stands in moments of
comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of
challenge and controversy. A lead er like Timacade is one
who sees more than others see who sees farther than
others see, and who sees before others see. If your
actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do
more and become more, you are a leader like Timacade. We
fight neither for glory nor for wealth nor honours; but
only and alone we fight for freedom, which no good man
surrenders but with his life.”Leaders touch a heart
before they ask for a hand. If your action. Inspire
others to dream more, learn more, do more and become
more, you are a leader. Leadership consists of nothing
but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong
and giving your subordinates credit for everything that
goes well. Great leaders inspire. They maintain a
hopeful attitude, even in the face of discouraging
setbacks, constant criticism and abundant opposition.
People don't follow discouraged leaders.. They follow
those who persist with hope. Those who command
themselves command others.
It's better to die fighting for freedom than to live
life in chains."Every one of us knows that, th e late Abdillahi sultan Timacde was great Freedom fighter whose
nationalist poems have deeply inspiring us. He was
unbelievably true nationalist that all Somalis
everywhere admire him reas on being free from tribalism mentality.A freedom fighter learns the hard way that it
is the oppr essor who defines the nature of the struggle,
and the oppressed is often left no recourse but to use
methods that mirror those of the oppressor. This is the
place that our great poet Abdill ahi Suldaan Mohammed 'Timacade'
who is still recognized both Somaliland and Somalia
alike as the source of Somali nationalism apart his
nationalist poetry which is still admired by Somalis
alike. The late Abdillahi Suldaan Mohammed 'Timacade was
of those who lead the Somaliland liberation movements
against the British colonial administration. Timacade
was famous for his numerous poems and his joyful poetry
to mark independence celebrations in June 26, 1960.His
nationalist poem Kan Siib Kana Saaar still stands
unchallengeable art of poetry in any time. This art of
poetry has found its thought and the thought has found
words. Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting
that speaks poetry. Abdillahi Suldaan Mohammed 'Timacade
poetry expresses emotions that we cannot be put into
words.
Timacade poetry healed the wounds inflicted by
nationalism. Late Abdillahi Suldaan Mohammed Poetry is
all that is worth remembering in life .Timaccde Poetry
is a mirror which makes beautif ul that which is
distorted. His Poetry is the art of uniting pleasure
with truth. His Poetry is lang uage at its most distilled
and most powerful. His poetry was nearer to vital truth
than history, instead of combat fight, Timacade age can
be used his poetry as bullet. His Poetry stills the
mo ther-tongue of all Somalis alike. Abdillahi Suldaan
poetry is the revelation of a feeling that the poet
believes to be interior and personal which the reader
recognizes as his own. His Poetry is the crown of
literature which is admired by all of alike. Everyone
time we listen his Poetry, we thinks reading a book or
novel. Late timacde was soldiers using his poetry to
liberate us from the British colonial administration.
Each of his word bears its weight and that is why read
his poems quite often. His poetry is a sword of
lightning, ever unsheathed, which consumes the scabbard
that would contain. His poetry is simply the most
beautiful, impressive, and widely effective mode of
saying things. During the colonial days his Poetry was a
political act because it involves telling the truth.
During the colonial days his poetry is the lifeblood of
rebellion, revolution, and the raising of consciousness.
Every age has its own poetry; in every age the
circumstances of history choose a nation, a race, a
class, but late Timacade poems is poetry of all times.
Teach our children his poetry, it opens minds for them,
lends grace to wisdom and makes them knowing the heroic
figures marked by our history. A grain of his poetry
suffices to season a ce ntury. Basically poetry is above
all a concentration of the power of language, which is
the pow er of our ultimate relationship to everything in
the universe. Late Ttimacade originates from So maliland
town “Gabiley” which is heart of farming land. And
everybody of us wants to support his own region and
economy and farming. If we can preserve the land and if
we can preserve the ocean, we all know, deep inside that
we're doing the right thing. Coming from a farming
bac kground, I saw nothing out of the ordinary in running
barefoot, although it seemed to startle the rest of the
athletics world. I have always enjoyed going barefoot
and when I was growing up I seldom wore shoes, even when
I went into town. The ultimate goal of farming is not
the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection
of human beings.” teaching the children of Gabiley how
to feed themselves and how to live in a community
responsibly is the center of an education.” Good farmer
is a craftsman of the highest order, a kind of artist.
The farmer from Gabiley not only gives riches to his
town, but riches all Somaliland. Farming is eating act.”
“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of
crops, but the cultivation and perfection of all of us.
Farming is like digging knowledge from the earth and
Gabiley is a fountain of knowledge.
Ismail Yusuf.
